今回は、先週の下北山村に続き

奈良の秘境！？上北山村でトレジャーハンティング！

素敵な村人たちが数珠つなぎで続々登場！？
(Wonderful villagers appear one after another!)

村の子どもは、中学を卒業すると近くに高校がないためたいてい寮のある学校に通う。
猫犬より、ハクビシン、さる、シカをよく見かける。
逆に猫を見たらびっくりする。
(It is more common to see civets, monkeys and deer than cats or dogs.
On the contrary, they are surprised when they see a cat.)

上北山村の地域おこし協力隊員を3年間務めた藤本圭子さんが、退任にあたり、「上北山村、私の記憶　いまはなくなってしまった生活の記録」を発刊
(Keiko Fujimoto, who served as a local revitalization cooperation volunteer in Kamikitayama Village for three years, has published “Kamikitayama Village, My Memories: A Record of a Life That Is No Longer Here” upon her retirement.)

吉の杉の割りばしの工房へ
(Visit to Yoshino Cedar Chopsticks Workshop)
日本遺産の割りばしと言われるけど、跡継ぎをさせたくないのでこの代が終わり。
吉野杉自体も取れなくなってきた。
(They are said to be a Japanese heritage, but as I don’t want to have a successor, this generation will be the end.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to harvest Yoshino cedar itself.)
